Antwerp — Skywings Flight Training is thrilled to announce a significant addition to our state-of-the-art training facilities—a brand-new Diamond DA40/DA42 simulator. This cutting-edge simulator, manufactured by Austria-based Diamond Aircraft Industries, is set to elevate our flight training programs to new heights.

At Skywings, we are committed to providing our aspiring pilots with the best training experience possible. That’s why we’ve chosen the Diamond DA40/DA42 simulator, which features only original cockpit parts and is designed to replicate the real-world flying experience meticulously. This choice ensures a seamless transition for our students to our real fleet of Diamond 40 and Diamond 42 aircraft, which feature identical cockpits.

Top-Notch Garmin G1000NXI Cockpit

One of the standout features of this simulator is its fully-equipped Garmin G1000NXI cockpit. This advanced avionics suite ensures our students train on the latest technology, preparing them for the modern cockpit environments they’ll encounter in their airline careers.

Easy Cockpit Conversion

The new Diamond simulator is incredibly versatile, allowing quick conversion between the twin-engine DA42 cockpit and the single-engine variant, the DA40NG. This adaptability aligns perfectly with our integrated ATPL flight training program, where students transition through various training phases, including single-engine and multi-engine flight.

Enhancing IFR and Multi-Engine Training

The simulator’s advanced capabilities will play a crucial role in our integrated ATPL flight training, especially during the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) training phase and Multi-Engine training.

The Best Equipment for the Best Training

Our decision to choose a simulator from the original manufacturer, Diamond Aircraft, aligns perfectly with our strategy of offering the best possible airline training using the market’s leading equipment. We believe that investing in the highest quality training tools is an investment in our students’ success and safety.

Campus expansion

The simulator is expected to be delivered in 6 to 8 months. To house the new simulator and to create more classroom space, as well as space for a second Airbus simulator in the further future, Skywings will further expand on its current location by extending the existing campus. The works are expected to start this Winter and we foresee to see the new part of the school in operation in the second quarter of 2024.
