Antwerp, Belgium – Skywings Flight Training, will become the dedicated training provider for the ab-initio pilot cadet program of Brussels Airlines. Trainees will follow a 19-month so-called “Multi Pilot License” training program at Skywings, before becoming employed as a first officer on the Airbus A320 fleet of Brussels Airlines.

“The MPL training offers the trainees a job guarantee with Belgium’s biggest passenger airline and is in line with the general trend in the industry of airlines choosing a dedicated training partner to train their new cadet pilots”, says Pieter Brantegem, chief commercial officer at Skywings. “After a rigorous selection process, the selected trainees will train on our single engine propellor fleet as well as in our Airbus A320 simulator, graduating with an MPL license and a type rating on the Airbus A320. The total training from zero to qualified airline pilot takes 19 months.”

Next to the MPL program, Skywings continues to offer its integrated ATPL program, which allows trainees to apply for a wide variety of pilot jobs in Europe. The start of the MPL program with Brussels Airlines fits into the strategy of Skywings to be a reliable partner of the airline industry in training the future generation of airline pilots.
